I started my career as a certified teacher. I taught for several years in public schools then I took some time off to stay home with my young children. During this time, I went to graduate school to pursue a dual Masters degree in Community and School Counseling.  Since graduating with my Masters degree from Oakland University, I have worked in several school districts as a school counselor.

In the summer of 2018, I pursued my dream of opening up a private practice. A place where I could individually help children, adults and families. I love giving clients my undivided attention and working together to help achieve your goals.

I am very blessed to have a diverse background and I believe it makes me a well rounded counselor. Some of my specialties include anxiety, depression, relationships & conflicts, self-esteem, self harm, grief & loss, divorce, and life transitions. In addition, I have years of experience working with school issues including 504 plans, IEP's, learning disabilities, college planning, bullying and test anxiety.

I see clients as young as 3 years old through adulthood, and my office has several therapy areas, so everyone no matter their age, feels comfortable and understood. If you want someone who is caring, non-judgmental, ready to listen, and will give 110%,  I'd love the opportunity to work with you.

I have worked with kids for most of my career. I LOVE them! As a School Counselor and Private Practice Therapist for 11+ years, I am no stranger to the ups and downs in child development. Helping students develop skills to manage life’s curveballs, in addition to helping parents understand the developing brain of their child is a real passion of mine. While I love kids with my whole heart I also love working with adults too! I have experience helping clients who are experiencing symptoms of Anxiety, Depression or perhaps a challenging life adjustment. I also enjoy working with couples who are going through relationship growing pains. I would be honored to help you through your journey to emotional wellness and I look forward to our time together!

Seeking out therapy is the first step to gaining additional tools in your toolbox of health, so congratulations and thank you for landing here!  Throughout my years in school counseling and as a licensed professional therapist, the most rewarding experience is connecting with individuals that are going through a life adjustment and being able to collaborate to sort through the struggle to explore a deeper understanding and helpful coping skills.

I have worked with individuals between the ages of 5-75 and my specialty is helping adults and children recognize their personal strength and gain confidence as life throws curveballs.  I specialize in substance abuse counseling, marriage and family therapy, anger management, and counseling children and adults going through life transitions or difficulties like managing anxiety or depression.  Together we can set goals and support each step to achieving them!

My specialty is helping children through adulthood cope with life’s difficult challenges. I started my profession as a certified classroom teacher, teaching for over eleven years in public education. During this time, I realized that I enjoyed working with some of the most challenging behaviors in the school. When we teach children, we are teaching the whole child. This means that not only do academics matter, but so does the child’s emotional, social, and mental health.

Soon, I knew that in order to have a larger impact on children’s behaviors I needed to be able to focus on their social, emotional, and mental health. This led me to a master’s from Spring Arbor University, majoring in both school counseling and clinical mental health. I am currently a school counselor for a district in Genesee County. Although I love working as a school counselor, I have come to realize that I want to be able to assist more children and adults outside of my school community.

I have many years of experience working with all ages of children and numerous school related issues. Even though my primary focus has been with children, I see clients from ages three through adulthood. Most of my experience is within Solution Focused therapy, but I utilize other forms of therapy as well. I believe every client should be treated with unconditional positive regard, non-judgment, and empathy. Together we can find the answers that are inside of you and begin the process of healing. I would love to begin your therapy journey with you.
