I started my career as a certified teacher. I taught for several years in public schools then I took some time off to stay home with my young children. During this time, I went to graduate school to pursue a dual Masters degree in Community and School Counseling.  Since graduating with my Masters degree from Oakland University, I have worked in several school districts as a school counselor.

In the summer of 2018, I pursued my dream of opening up a private practice in Fenton Michigan. A place where I could individually help children, adults and families. I love giving clients my undivided attention and working together to help achieve your goals.

I am very blessed to have a diverse background and I believe it makes me a well rounded counselor. Some of my specialties include anxiety, depression, relationships & conflicts, self-esteem, self harm, grief & loss, divorce, and life transitions. In addition, I have years of experience working with school issues including 504 plans, IEP's, learning disabilities, college planning, bullying and test anxiety.

I see clients as young as 3 years old through adulthood, and my office has several therapy areas, so everyone no matter their age, feels comfortable and understood. If you want someone who is caring, non-judgmental, ready to listen, and will give 110%,  I'd love the opportunity to work with you.

Navigating through life at times can be a real struggle. We all experience difficulty at times responding to life's challenges. Each phase of life is equally important and presents its own set of stresses and complications and I can help you to navigate through those emotions and barriers to begin taking charge of the life you want. I will work with you to address areas you would like to experience change in, at your pace.

I work with individuals from childhood through adulthood struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, depression and trauma.  I have experience working with adolescents with learning and behavioral challenges, co-parenting, divorce, and blended families. Raising kids and family relationships can be hard and can be even more challenging when you are experiencing those life stressors alone.  At this time I am available for Teletherapy as well as in person sessions. I am honored to work with you in this time.

Deciding to seek out therapy is a big step and sometimes it is difficult to know where to start. I want to simplify that process as much as possible and provide an environment that is supportive and welcoming.  Together we will explore where you hope to see growth and create individualized goals to help guide our time together.

I have always loved hearing people share about their life experiences. My time as a licensed master social worker has equipped me to better understand how much those experiences impact the ways individuals view themselves and the world around them. I have a background working with people who have experienced trauma, mental health crises, substance use, grief, and other significant life changes. To help people navigate these areas I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, Solutions-Focused therapy and other helpful interventions. Therapy is a wonderful tool to use for gaining insight into ourselves and also in developing positive and effective coping strategies.

I am grateful you took the time to research therapy as an option for you. If you are ready to move forward please feel free to call me for a free phone consultation.

I have worked with kids for most of my career. I LOVE them! As a School Counselor and Private Practice Therapist for 11+ years, I am no stranger to the ups and downs in child development. Helping students develop skills to manage life’s curveballs, in addition to helping parents understand the developing brain of their child is a real passion of mine. While I love kids with my whole heart I also love working with adults too! I have experience helping clients who are experiencing symptoms of Anxiety, Depression or perhaps a challenging life adjustment. I also enjoy working with couples who are going through relationship growing pains. I would be honored to help you through your journey to emotional wellness and I look forward to our time together!
